Pricing and Billing: Audio and Video

This document answers general questions about pricing and billing including audio only pricing

What is Audio only Pricing ? and How does Audio Only Pricing Work ?​

  1. Audio Only pricing is discounted pricing for Audio Only Calls. If you do not need video calling and only need audio calls then you can get discounted pricing on Audio only calls.

  2. Audio only calls only work in audio only rooms. To get the discounted pricing on audio only calls you need to create audio only rooms.

Note:

If you create a normal rooms and did not share a video stream or screen share but only shared audio stream then you will NOT get audio only pricing. You will be charged video pricing. To get audio only pricing you will have to create audio only rooms.

  1. You will not be able to conduct video calling and screen sharing in audio only rooms.

How does Free minutes work and what happens if I exceed the free mins allotted in my plan?​

  1. You will get 50,000 video mins per month bundled with the paid plan, that you can use in the normal rooms. You will also get 10,000 audio only mins per month bundled with the paid plan. Audio only mins can only be used in the audio only rooms

  2. All the bundled mins expire at the end on the monthly billing cycle. That is if your billing cycle expires on 30th of every month all the unused mins in your plan will become zero. New mins will be allotted in the new billing cycle.

  3. After the mins are over you will be billed for the mins you use. You will also get volume discounts if the mins you use are over a threshold.

  4. Discounts are applied to the whole of the billable mins.

  5. In the Free plan you will get 10,000 Normal mins and 10,000 Audio only mins. After your Free mins are over and if you need more mins subscribe to the paid plans.

How does volume discounts work?​

Volume discounts are applied across all your billable mins once you cross a threshold that is given in the discounts table below.

:thumbsup: How to move to the next higher tier in volume discounts?

To move from a lower tier to a higher one you must exceed the higher limited of the lower tier. For example: if your billable mins are between 100k and 500k to go to the next higher tier you must bill at least 500,001 mins.

That will land you in the next higher tier of +500K to 1M mins.

Audio Only and Normal Mins are different with regards to billing and volume discounts

Volume discounts for Normal mins and Audio mins run in their separate tiers. That is Audio only mins are counted separately and their volume discounts are also counted separately.

For Example: if you used 3M normal mins and 20,000 Audio only mins, you will get a 20% discount on Normal mins but your audio only mins will be billed at 0.00072 USD per participant min.
